Re-Imagining A Country Store

Follow Our Journey!

About Us

Founded in 1840

Since 1840, the Taftsville Country Store has operated as a traditional country store, serving first local residents, and then the growing number of tourists with quality Vermont products.  This year the current proprietors made the difficult decision to close the store and start the next chapter of their lives.  Taftsville residents, John and Jennifer Endicott, have purchased the building and are working with the town and residents of Taftsville keep the store open and vibrant.  We are early in our journey but hope that you will follow us and our story as we work to preserve this historic location.

A Meeting Place

Our vision is for a store and cafe that residents and visitors can grab a table, enjoy a beverage and fresh, local food offerings.  Visit with neighbors, read your mail or plan your next Vermont adventure.  We hope to see you soon!

Fresh Food

While we are in the planning stages with our friends and neighbors for the future of the store, we will be open Thursday and Friday with fresh fish,Windy Acres Eggs, a great wine selection and Green Rabbit Bakery during peeping season. If you would like to be on the "fish email" for weekly orders please fill out the form on our site and we will happily add you to the list.
